i threw my sister, melissa, a sip and see for her and her baby, jackson, over the summer. i wanted the feel of it to be summery so i went with oranges and blues. and i accented with touches of seersucker. and the rest is a little bit eclectic because that's just how all of my parties end up.;)
here's a look around…
the sign that welcomed guests..
after they walked up the chalk-heart walkway;)
here are some details in random order...
i crocheted the circle garland and my friend heather, over at cm handmade on etsy, made the adorable burlap banner with seersucker letters.:)
i loved the way these letters turned out. big paper mache letters that i spray painted in metallic copper.
homemade lemonade, iced tea, infused water and sangria
my mom made the yummiest multi-layer carrot cake (melissa's favorite).
my gift focused on her..because all too often i feel like mommy is forgotten about and all the attention goes to baby. but, she also deserves to feel good (especially after anyone who's had a baby knows, you don't always feel the prettiest)..so, my gift included some makeup, jewelry, tops, etc.
and naturally i had to get jackson a few things too;)
we played one game. the sock-matching game. each person had 30 seconds to pair as many socks as they could. the person with the most at the end, won. it was so fun to watch and play!
i catered all the food from a local, independent restaurant.
melissa all ready to open all the cuteness!;)
grandma and jackson;)
mommy and baby
and can't forget the favors...
i made up the little tags and then layered the candies accordingly. i just wanted to come up with something fun and different, yet practical. and i'm sure everyone broke into their jar on the drive home.;)
hope you enjoyed the look around. if you have any questions, please feel free to email me!:)
