Easter celebration.

i absolutely love celebrating Easter. a time to gather with friends and family and celebrate our Savior. all while enjoying the weather and everything spring. i haven't hosted an Easter party in a couple of years, so we decided we needed to have to have one this year! we wanted to have a bbq potluck and that's just what we did. definitely a nice, fun, relaxing day.

i ended up cutting so many roses from our yard and loved every bit of it. the colors, the smell. and they make the pretties bouquets. way better than store bought!;)

the chocolate crosses were prizes for the kids games.

baskets set out for the egg hunt and we set up a little play area for the little ones.

the dessert bar.

for little favors i bought packets of milkweed seeds for the kids to plant at home.

milkweed is the only plant that monarch butterflies with lay their eggs on.

cole was in charge of his first sign.

i attempted to make a lemon cake. (that spells love just in case you can't make it out either. haha)

we bbq'd tri tip, chicken and hot dogs.

the kids helped me stuff a lot of these eggs. i bought quite a few pre-stuffed eggs too. there were 300 in all.

so much yummy food. everything was really delicious.

we put a couple of the guys to work in hiding all of those eggs.;)

my co-host.;)

the kids were so excited!

one lucky golden egg.

kids running every which way around the yard. i loved it.

and luke was the lucky golden egg finder!!

checking out their loot.

later on the kids did sack races, egg and spoon races and balancing the egg on their head.

the kids played and the adults chatted into the night. i always love and welcome lingering.
truly the perfect way to end our spring break.
so thankful for the family and friends we got to share this day with.
happy Easter!
