halloween pennant banner

with the upcoming halloween party, i have started to create a bit here and there!  i have been wanting to make a banner...and came up with this.  our theme is somewhat centered around owls..so i figured this would be appropriate ;)

it's kinda hard to get it all in one shot.  this was the best i could do...

i made each piece out of card stock, cardboard letters, stamps and paint and hung them up on a long string with mini clothes pins...

whooo goes there?  that would be owl talk. haha ;)

then i attached ribbon sporadically in between...(everything has to have ribbon ;) ).  fairly simple, yet festive. :)

ella wanted to help, so while i was creating mine..she was busy at work creating hers.  and we hung it up in her room.  too cute.

she loved the paint and stamps...lots of stars...

she mixed up a little bit of everything to create her masterpiece.

halloween tablescape

oh, how i just love fall and everything that comes along with it...especially halloween!  it has always been one of my favorite holidays, and i couldn't wait to create a little tablescape in celebration of it. :)  please visit between naps on the porch for more great tablescapes! :)  

i found these plates at homegoods a couple of weeks ago, and it was love at first site.  i knew they had to come home with me ;)

a staple of halloween: candy corn!  i am loving owls this season too!  i was so excited when i found these at homegoods too!

i bought the cat containers at pottery barn.

a little candlelight in a spooky tree...i bought this tree at illuminations years ago, and it is still one of my favorite pieces!

give up?  the candle is the pumpkin!  got those at pottery barn too!

not your average fog machine...

how cool are these?!  they are a different take on the traditional fog machine.  they blow out fog bubbles..when they pop..poof! FOG!  love it!  great for any halloween party!  grandinroad has so many great decorations.  i wish i could buy one of each! haha.  you'll see what i mean when you check out their halloween haven here.  enjoy! :)

an absolute must for any halloween party

melissa (huckleberryprairie.com) posted a recipe and instructions on how to make these adorable owl cookies!  as soon as i saw them i told her i absolutely had to have them for my upcoming halloween festivities.  wouldn't you agree? :)  thanks for the idea melissa!

yabba dabba doo!

the halloween festivities are in the works!  sarah and i have started discussing ideas and have decided it will be one big party for kids and adults...everyone comes dressed!  it will be everything halloween, from games to goodies and decor!  so, i have been thinking of costumes for quite sometime now...at first i wanted to do an alice in wonderland theme for the family...but then i thought of the flinstones and thought that would be pretty fun and funny! ;)  so it's official..we will be fred, wilma, bam-bam, and pebbles...oh, and dino (yes, even our dog will be dressed..haha).  i can't wait to hear what everyone else has in the works! :)

yay!!  my candyland party is being featured on creative parties and showers today!  so exciting and such an honor! :)  this blog is nothing but inspiration!  definitely a favorite..i love it! :)
