back to school dinner...llama style.

to celebrate their first day back to school, I wanted to have a special dinner, but I wanted to change it up from the usual school theme. we developed a thing for llamas over the summer..probably from chasing them around in a field on one of our trips..haha..but they all came home with a little version. so I centered the theme around it. I had intentions of making a yummy dinner..but, you know..life..so that didn't happen with the craziness of the day and getting home late. but, it worked out for the better because it totally made their night getting to drive through chick fil a and bring it home. sometimes it's just easier going with the flow than stressing over the details planned. and everyone was happy. everyone had a great first day and just getting up and on time alone after sleeping in all summer was definitely a reason to celebrate.

Mother's Day in paradise

I know any mom would love to be transported to some tropical island for rest and relaxation, all while sipping on some fruity drink in the sun, sporting a lei of course. Well, unfortunately I could not fly all the moms to paradise, so I tried to bring paradise to them. I wanted them to feel special in the little details, from the cups they drank out of to the leis around their necks. I wanted them to feel relaxed and taken care of. And of course lots of yummy food and treats to indulge in.
The guys were super helpful in contributing to the food..bbq'ing, sides and most important the food prep. Each mom here left with a hibiscus flower to plant at home, and of course our mom's had baskets I prepped with goodies, frame with pics and flowers. I loved decorating with palms I snipped from the backyard and umbrellas for drinks, all sorts of tropicalish fruit, and lots of fresh flowers and plants. I always love putting together the details. And am so thankful for my own mom.

cinco de mayo!!

I questioned if I was even going to celebrate cinco this year. And then as it got closer, one thing led to the next and a fiesta happened. haha! I simply love an opportunity for a good fiesta too much to let it pass by. and we had a great night celebrating with friends.
